    You are buying the last real gold plated Roman legion standard signum or
    'rectangle sign'
    only with a corona aurea or gold crown design in raised high relief work representing a victorious laurel wreath award for this particular legionary cohort or legion.  The rest of the standard is not included and is only pictured to show you how you would mount this piece on your own standard.  I made this legionary standard sign when gold was 5 an ounce compared to it being 35 an ounce now.  I will never plate in real gold again, so this is indeed a rare piece as I only made about three of these in total like this one using real gold on the wreath on top of silver and then with real gold on the roping edge work.   This is the last one that I had kept for myself and that I am now selling.
