This is a great small insertion thermocouple with a K-Type sensor. The sensor is housed at the tip of a 3 inch long stainless steel probe, which comes with a 2 inch long handle. This temperature probe has a miniature type connector that will work with digital K-type thermometers from a wide range of manufacturers (see my shop for a good selection).
This insertion probe can be inserted in liquids, pastes or any object you like to measure. The stainless steel probe is much easier to clean than the K-type thermocouple wire that comes with many thermometers. It is frequently used in HVAC, industrial and laboratory applications.
The temperature rating is for the tip of the stainless steel sensor, the handle and cable are stable to about 160F.
