    Don't pay for one of these from a vendor. For sale is one Boston gear works universal joint.
    All of these joints have a 3/16 inch bore ON BOTH ENDS.
    I took one of these and put it in our milling machine and was able to drill through it for a set screw or a cross pin with no problem. These are not hardened they are mild steel to allow for the drilling of the pin or a setscrew.
    These are now stored with desiccant packs and a wood cabinet in our air-conditioned laboratory.
